RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 (WAFA) – Data by the Ministry of Health for the last 24 hours showed that, and for the first time, a sharp surge in coronavirus cases were recorded in Ramallah city, the de facto capital of the Palestinian Authority, with 48 confirmed cases, and 135 cases in the Ramallah governorate in general, including the city.
The data showed that 419 people have tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the West Bank in general, raising the total in Palestine to 8153, and two deaths, raising total to 47.
The data also showed that 170 patients have recovered in the West Bank in the last 24 hours, 140 of them in the Hebron district, raising the total of recoveries in Palestine to 1487.
According to the Ministry, 17 patients are in the intensive care unit in hospitals, six of them are on respirators.
The data also showed that for the first time in weeks, the southern West Bank district of Hebron, the current epicenter of the disease in Palestine, showed a sharp decline in the number of cases, which recorded 50 new ones in the last 24 hours, half of them in the city itself.
The Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem continued to score high in the number of new cases with 119 recorded in the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health in its daily briefing on coronavirus cases in Palestine.
