RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 (WAFA) – Coronavirus remained the main topic of the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today, which said that three people have died of the disease in the West Bank and 293 new cases were recorded yesterday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said one of the fatalities was a 12-day-old baby.
It also did a story about a wedding in Deir Ammar, a village near Ramallah, which resulted in many corona cases.
It quoted the Ministry of Education saying that there are no scholarships this year for universities abroad because of the corona pandemic.
Al-Quds said Israel has been holding for four weeks testing kits destined for the Palestinian territories.
It said one new corona death and 21 new cases were recorded yesterday among the Palestinian communities in the diaspora.
Al-Ayyam said 100 new corona cases were recorded in East Jerusalem.
It quoted Palestinian officials warning that the coronavirus has reached the refugee camps.
The top front-page story in al-Hayat al-Jadida was on the telephone call between President Mahmoud Abbas and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Al-Ayyam said 11 European ministers called for taking measures to deter Israel’s plans to annex occupied Palestinian territories.
It said Israel is getting ready for possible start of war crimes investigation by the International Criminal Court.
It said Israel has fenced Jabal al-Firdis, Herodion, in Bethlehem.
Al-Quds said Israel issued demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the West Bank and settlers have taken over land in the Jordan Valley.
It said thousands of Israelis have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
