RAMALLAH, Tuesday, July 14, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Tuesday afternoon confirmed a new novel coronavirus fatality, raising the death toll in the occupied territories since the pandemic spread to 47.
The Health Ministry announced that a 54-year-old man died due to the highly contagious virus in Anata town, north of Jerusalem.
The man, it added, was being treated in the Hugo Chaves Hospital in Turmus Ayya, near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.
Earlier today, the ministry confirmed that 293 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, including 108 in the Israeli-occupied part of East Jerusalem and 158 in the Hebron district, the current Palestinian epicenter of the disease.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 7,734.
Out of the 7,734 cases, 6,692 are recorded in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip and 970 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 1,258, including 174 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 6,429 active cases.
