Palestinian prisoner completes 18 years in Israeli jails

JENIN, Saturday, June 13, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli detention Anas Ibrahim Briki completes today 18 years behind Israeli prison bars, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society.

Briki, who comes from the city of Jenin in the north of the occupied West Bank, was arrested on June 13, 2002, and was sentenced 22 years in prison for his activism in the resistance against the Israeli occupation.

Like many Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, he has been denied family visitation several times by the Israeli occupation authorities as a punishment against him and his entire family.

More than 5,000 Palestinian and Arab prisoners are currently incarcerated by Israeli occupation authorities for resisting the prolonged Israeli occupation of their homeland.
