RAMALLAH, Monday, May 18, 2020 (WAFA) – Extremely hot conditions are expected to prevail today and continue through the week as temperature becomes 12°C above the annual average from today through Wednesday, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds today are northeasterly to easterly, moderate to active and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 37°C and a low of 26°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 36°C and a low of 25°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 46°C and a low of 30°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 28°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A slight drop in temperature is expected on Thursday to become 10°C above the average, said the PMD, which warned people against long exposure to sunlight during the peak hours between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and from lighting fire in areas with dry grass.
