GAZA, Friday, February 22, 2019 (WAFA) – At least one Palestinian minor was killed and 41 others were injured, three of them seriously, by live bullets or rubber-coated rounds on Friday as Israeli forces attacked the weekly Great March of Return protests at Gaza-Israel border, according to the Ministry of Health.
The forces fired live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds at the protesters who gathered for the weekly Friday protests at many encampments along the border, killing 15-year-old Yousef Saeed Dayeh by a live shot in his chest and injuring 41 others. Three of the injuries were described as critical.
Some of the wounded were moved to hospital and others were treated in the field hospitals.
More than 223 Palestinians have been killed and over 23,000 others injured by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the Great March of Return protests at Gaza border on March 30, 2018.
The weekly protests reached their peak on May 14, 2018 when Palestinians commemorated the anniversary of the Palestinian exodus, the Nakba of 1948, and over 50 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces on that day alone.
