RAMALLAH, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestinians took to the streets today to protest the American so-called deal of the century, hours before US President Donald Trump is expected to reveal it in Washington.
Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers in Arroub refugee camp in the south of the West Bank. The soldiers fired back rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas causing several minor injuries.
Rallies were held in Gaza and in several West Bank cities denouncing the American plan, which Palestinians believe is intended to end their cause in favor of the occupying power, Israel.
More rallies are expected in the major cities at 7:00 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT) when Trump is expected to reveal his plan after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his opponent, head of Blue/White party Benny Gantz.
The Palestinian leadership is expected to also hold an emergency meeting in Ramallah as the same time and is expected to take major decisions to show its strong opposition to the American plan, which Palestinian officials have described as ‘fraud of the century.”
