TEL AVIV, March 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced on Monday that residents of all Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem will be eligible for gun licenses.

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz said that 300,000 people in Jerusalem, living in 41 different neighborhoods, will become eligible for gun licenses.

Ben-Gvir launched the policy of arming Israelis, including settlers in the occupied West Bank, at the end of 2023, following the outbreak of the Israeli war of annihilation on the Gaza Strip.

Colonists carry out almost daily terrorist attacks, using firearms, against Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, with the aim of forcibly displacing them and seizing their lands and properties.
