JERUSALEM, March 9, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening closed the Bab al-Amoud (Damascus Gate) area in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli occupation forces compelled shop owners in the Damascus Gate area to close their businesses after a group of young men and women distributed meals to passersby, marking Iftar, when Muslims break their daily fast at sunset during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a related development, Israeli forces also set up a military checkpoint in the Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood of Silwan, located south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
