Israeli forces raid al-Quds University, seize surveillance cameras recordings

JERUSALEM, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday raided al-Quds University campus in the town of Abu Dis, southeast of Jerusalem, and seized surveillance cameras recordings, according to sources.

WAFA correspondent quoted sources saying that a number of heavily-armed Israeli soldiers broke into the campus, where they ransacked several faculties and offices, leaving a great deal of havoc behind.

Soldiers searched student bloc offices and seized the surveillance cameras recordings.

This came several hours following intense confrontations between Israeli troops and local youths who protested the raid and attempted to block troops’ passage.

Soldiers reportedly fired dozens of concussion and tear gas grenades in addition to rubber-coated steel bullets at protestors who fought back with stones and empty glass bottles, causing 17 to suffocate.

The casualties were treated by Palestinian Red Crescent Society medics at the scene.
