Confrontations break out following Israeli raid on Tuqu’ town near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, September 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, shortly after midnight today, according to local sources.

The sources said that the forces set up a military checkpoint in the center of the town, triggering confrontations with Palestinian youth. They chased the young men through the town’s neighborhoods, fired sound grenades at them, and detained a 24-year-old resident, who was taken to an unknown destination.

The forces also raided areas surrounding Palestinian residents’ homes amid a heavy deployment of soldiers.

They were also deployed in the al-Amour neighborhood, where they continued chasing young men and maintaining a heavy presence.

The forces later withdrew from the town toward its western entrance after a raid that lasted about two hours.
