TULKARM, November 5, 2026 (WAFA) – A group of Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers while they were picking olives on their land in the Sahl Ramin area, east of Tulkarm, on Thursday, attempting to steal harvesting equipment, olive crops and picking sheets.
Manal Zaidan, an activist with the Palestinian Farmers Union, told WAFA that he was working on his land when a group of armed colonists arrived in three tuk-tuk vehicles and suddenly attacked the farmers. They attempted to steal harvesting equipment, olives and the sheets used for picking, but the farmers managed to confront them and prevent the theft.
Zaidan added that one of the colonists fired live ammunition into the air in an attempt to intimidate the farmers, force them off their land and prevent them from remaining there.
He said such attacks were not isolated incidents, noting that farmers in the area are repeatedly subjected to harassment and assaults aimed at driving them off their land and preventing them from accessing and working it freely and safely, particularly during the olive harvest season.
