RAMALLAH, November 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities have issued two tenders for the marketing of land to construct 91 colonial housing units in the Oranit settlement, built on land belonging to the Qalqilia governorate, in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the tenders include 86 units in a multi-story residential construction project and five units in a low-rise housing project.
The commission said tender No. 224/2026, published on November 5, covers four residential complexes comprising 86 colonial housing units. The submission period is scheduled to open on November 15, with December 21 set as the deadline for receiving bids.
It noted that the tender was published before its detailed documents were made available and before the bidding process opened, meaning it is counted as an officially announced tender from the date of publication.
Tender No. 228/2026, published on November 3, covers three complexes comprising five low-rise colonial housing units. The authorities have scheduled November 16 as the opening date for bid submissions and December 29 as the deadline. However, the detailed tender documents had not yet been published as of November 5.
The commission said the two tenders in Oranit comprise a total of 91 housing units across seven residential complexes.
It stressed that this figure represents the number of units included in the announced tenders, not housing units whose construction has begun or contracts have been awarded to construction companies.
In a separate development, Israeli authorities revised the timetable for tender No. 460/2025, covering 2,167 colonial housing units under the E1 project east of occupied Jerusalem, near the Ma'ale Adumim settlement.
According to the commission, under an update dated November 5, the publication of the tender documents and the opening of bidding have been postponed from October 25 to December 1. The submission deadline has also been extended from December 21 to December 28.
The commission clarified that the changes concern only the tender schedule and do not constitute its cancellation or a reduction in the number of planned units.
The total number of colonial housing units included in the two E1 project tenders remains 3,401, comprising 2,167 units under tender No. 460/2025 and an additional 1,234 units under tender No. 186/2026.
