JERUSALEM, September 9, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli colonists on Wednesday continued to expand a pastoral outpost near the al-Muhtoosh Bedouin community, adjacent to Khan al-Ahmar, east of occupied Jerusalem, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.

It said that colonists began erecting a new fence around the Bedouin community, restricting Palestinian inhabitants’ movement and limiting their access to their lands, in an attempt to pave the way for the expansion of the colonial outpost at the expense of the community’s lands.

It added that this step comes amid ongoing attacks targeting the Bedouin community, including the cutting of water pipelines, as Israeli occupation authorities and colonists intensify efforts to seize control of the area and push Bedouin communities to leave.

Meanwhile, the occupying forces barged their way into the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, amid colonists’ intrusions into several areas east and northeast of the governorate.

A sizable army force also raided the eastern area of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, accompanied by colonists, amid a heavy military presence in the area.

Still in the Ramallah governorate, the gun-toting soldiers set up a checkpoint near Taybeh Roundabout, east of Ramallah.

Meanwhile, colonists broke into the Gharraba area, northwest of Sinjil town, north of Ramallah, conducting acts of provocation in the area.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
