For the second time in less than a year, Israeli forces demolish house in Hebron-area town

HEBRON, Thursday, January 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the occupied West Bank’s Hebron-district town of Yatta under the pretext of construction without a permit, according to a local source.

Rateb Jabour, coordinator of the National and Popular Committee in southern Hebron, told WAFA that Israeli forces demolished the 150-square-meter house belonging to Hussein Salamah in Yatta.

He said the house, located in Area C of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli military rule, was first demolished in 2019 before it was rebuilt by its owner. It was inhabited by 10 people.

Israel does not allow Palestinian development of Area C, which makes up more than 60 percent of the area of the occupied West Bank.
