RAMALLAH, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 (WAFA) - Ambassador for the Palestinian Affairs and Representative of Japan to Palestine, Takeshi Okubo, visited Rafah city in Gaza to celebrate the completion of the project funded by the Government of Japan through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
Give Palestine Association used a grant of $83,651 to provide reliable and stable electricity supply to Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital through the installation of a solar panel system.
This project is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the hospital to deliver adequate medical care to its all patients, particularly for patients suffering from Kidney failure, since the hospital has operated the DIALYSIS system for ed hours per day due to the electricity crises in Gaza, said a statement issued by the Representative Office of Japan to Palestine.
The direct beneficiaries shall be about 150 patients with Kidney failure who receive the Dialysis treatment through the provision of stable electricity supply.
In his speech, Okubo emphasized Japan’s firm commitment of supporting Palestinian people from human and security perspectives as well as the importance of implementing social and economic development projects needed for Palestinian communities.
