RAMALLAH, September 20, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces today tightened military restrictions at the entrances to villages and towns across Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, in the occupied West Bank, closing several access routes.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces closed all entrances and exits to areas north of Ramallah city, including the Atara military checkpoint and the entrances of Ein Sinya, Nabi Saleh, Aboud, Rawabi and Deir Nidham.
The forces also closed eastern and western entrances to Ramallah, including those leading to al-Taybeh, Turmus Ayya, Sinjil and Silwad to the east, as well as the road between the villages of Deir Qaddis and Ni'lin to the west.
The closures have restricted movement between Ramallah and surrounding villages and towns and disrupted access for Palestinian commuters.
Israeli occupation authorities claimed that a colonist was seriously injured in a shooting near the village of Nabi Saleh, specifically close to the illegal Halamish colony built on lands belonging to the village.
