RAMALLAH, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted on their front page today a young Palestinian seriously injured yesterday when shot in the chest by Israeli soldiers who opened fire at students protesting against the death of a prisoner due to medical negligence.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam made the protests their main front page story while al-Hayat al-Jadida had it lower on the page.
The main story in al-Hayat al-Jadida focused on remarks by President Mahmoud Abbas at a national conference held in Ramallah yesterday in which he said that “the future is for us and we will soon establish our state.”
Al-Ayyam highlighted Abbas’ statement in which he said Washington is trying to impose its own laws, while al-Quds quoted him saying whatever they do, we will remain resilient.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on the cabinet meeting during which the prime minister asked his ministers to update the information on their Gaza employees.
It said the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) called on the world to support the UN Palestine refugee agency UNRWA.
Al-Quds highlighted the Israeli High Court decision allowing the army to withhold bodies of dead Palestinians to use them for bargaining purposes.
It also said the Israeli government has failed in getting the cameras law passed.
Al-Ayyam said the Egyptian delegation has left Gaza after passing on to Hamas Israeli commitment to the calm understandings.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the government has decided to stop importing beef from Israel.
