RAMALLAH, Monday, September 09, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained 470 people from the Palestinian territories during August, including 50 children and 11 women, today said three Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy groups.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS), the Prisoners Commission, and Addameer Prisoner Support said 162 detained Palestinians were from occupied East Jerusalem, 82 from the Ramallah district, 50 from the Hebron area, 44 from Jenin district, 38 from Nablus area, 30 from Bethlehem area, 24 from the Qalqilya district and the rest from Tulkarm, Toubas, Salfit and Jericho districts. In addition, seven were from the Gaza Strip.
It said 5700 Palestinians were incarcerated in Israeli jails by the end of August, including 38 women and 220 children below 18 years of age. More than 500 Palestinians are held in administrative detention without charge or trial, including 76 orders issue in August, some were for the first time and others were renewed.
