BERLIN, Thursday, August 29, 2019 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday started an official visit to Germany, during which he is expected to meet with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Palestine‘s Ambassador to Germany Khuloud Deibes told the official Voice of Palestine radio that President Abbas is set to discuss with Steinmeier and Merkel the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

She pointed out that the visit is important because “Germany plays a significant and important role on the European and international arena, in terms of supporting the Palestinian cause.”
