Weather: Hot conditions expected through middle of next week

 

RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 24, 2019 (WAFA) – The heat wave affecting the region is expected to continue through the middle of next week with temperature today expected to be 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is northwesterly, light to moderate and gets active at times. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 29°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 41°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Similar weather conditions and temperature are expected to prevail in Palestine through Tuesday, said the PMD, which warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the peak hours of the day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
