Weather: Cold conditions, rain expected

 

RAMALLAH, Monday, November 12, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Monday is partially cloudy, relatively cold in mountainous areas and mild in the rest with a slight chance of scattered rain showers on some areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, active at times. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 13°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 18°C and a low of 12°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 17°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 23°C and a low of 16°C in Gaza and the coast.

PMD also predicted weather on Tuesday to remain the same, with a slight rise in temperature. A chance of scattered rain showers along with thunderstorms is expected on some areas.

A low pressure is expected to hit the region on Wednesday and Thursday, making the weather partially cloudy and cold. Temperature is expected to significantly drop becoming three degrees Celsius lower than its annual average. Rain, along with thunderstorms, is expected to drop on some areas.

PMD warned citizens of low horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog, low clouds, and of sliding on roads and formation of floods.
