Five killed, dozens injured as Israeli forces open fire on aid seekers in Gaza

GAZA, June 15, 2025 (WAFA) – At least five Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Sunday morning after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in central and southern Gaza, according to medical sources and eyewitness accounts.

The victims were among a group of people gathered near the former Netzarim corridor in central Gaza, awaiting food aid deliveries. Medical sources confirmed that the three people were killed at the scene, while multiple others sustained injuries in the incident.

Further south, in Khan Younis, two Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces fired on a separate group waiting for assistance. Just prior to that, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Hamad City, north of Khan Younis.

Over the past weeks, Israeli occupation forces have consistently targeted aid seekers across the Gaza Strip, particularly in Rafah and central Gaza. These repeated assaults have led to the killing of dozens and injuries to many more, drawing strong condemnation from international organizations.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 55,297 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 128,426 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
