Government rejects Israel’s closure of Palestinian school, says classes will continue as normal

RAMALLAH, Monday, October 15, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Government rejected on Monday the Israeli army’s decision to close al-Lubban/al-Sawiyeh school in the north of the occupied West Bank and said classes will continue as usual.

Government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud said in a press release that the military order to close the school is “a new attack” on Palestinian education and a violation of international laws that guarantee the right to education.

He urged the international community to intervene to put an end to Israel’s continuous attack on Palestinian life at every level.

Students, their parents and Palestinian officials went to the school on Monday to make sure that classes continue as normal but were attacked by Israeli soldiers attempting to impose the closure by force causing injury among some.
