RAMALLAH, June 10, 2025 (WAFA) – The release of Palestinian detainee Abada Dandis was postponed on Tuesday by Israeli authorities, according to a statement issued by the Jerusalem Governorate.
Dandis, a resident of occupied East Jerusalem, was scheduled to be released today after serving an 18-month sentence in Israeli prisons. His release was to be conditional, requiring a financial guarantee of 50,000 shekels to prevent any celebratory reception or public gathering in his honor.
However, Israeli intelligence informed Dandis’s family that he would not be released as planned. Instead, his detention has been extended pending a new file, the details of which have not yet been disclosed.
The governorate condemned the decision, calling it part of an ongoing Israeli policy aimed at targeting Palestinians in Jerusalem even after they complete their sentences.
