GAZA, June 10, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities dawn on Tuesday transferred the activists on the Break the Siege ship to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv in preparation for their deportation to their countries.
This happened hours after the Israeli Navy seized the ship and escorted it to the port of Ashdod.
Israeli media said that four of them, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, agreed to sign a voluntary departure document.
Eight other activists, however, refused to sign the document, including Rima Hassan, a member of the European Parliament for France, who had previously been deported from the country upon her arrival at Ben Gurion Airport.
The refusing activists were detained at the Givon Center for (illegal) residents—according to Israeli claims—for 96 hours. After this period, they will be deported with or without their consent.
It is worth noting that the Israeli army attacked the Madleen ship at dawn yesterday, carrying international activists and activists in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to break the blockade imposed on the Strip.
The ship was surrounded by Israeli gunboats, while drones flew overhead at low altitudes, amid tensions among the protesters on board, according to a previous live broadcast.
