Israeli airport authority interrogates participants in conference held in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, April 14, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli airport authority interrogated a number of international visitors on Saturday morning about their participation in a conference held in Ramallah as they were leaving the country through Tel Aviv airport.

One of the participants, Renata Fayezova, who heads the international relations department at the Kazakh Humanities and Law University and who described her treatment at the airport as “cruel and provocative,” said she was interrogated for several hours about her participation in Beit al-Maqdes International Conference held in Ramallah last week.

She said that she got in contact with her government and informed them of her bad treatment at Israel’s airport demanding action against Israel for not respecting international visitors, particularly since she holds a Russian passport.

Israel had banned a number of international visitors who were invited to participate in the conference from entering the country.
