RAMALLAH, March 1, 2018 (WAFA) - Israeli authorities issued 46 administrative detention orders against Palestinian detainees including a woman journalist, which raises number of administrative detentions since the begging of March to 110 orders, according to Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Mahmoud Halabi, PPS attorney, said on Thursday that Israeli authority issued administrative order against the woman journalist Bushra Taweel from al-Bireh for four months.  Taweel is ex-detainee who was re-detained on November 2017 and served six month administrative detention.

Ten among those issued administrative detention orders were recently released from prison and re-detained.

Israel’s widely condemned policy of administrative detention allows detention of Palestinian detainees without charge or trial for renewable intervals, usually ranging between three and six months, based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

Rights groups say that Israel‘s administrative detention policy has been used as an attempt to disrupt Palestinian political processes, notably targeting Palestinian politicians, activists, and journalists.
