RAMALLAH, February 15, 2018 (WAFA) – An Israeli military court sentenced on Thursday a Palestinian teenager who killed three Israeli settlers on July 21, 2017 to four life terms.
Omar al-Abed, 19, from Kobar village, northwest of Ramallah, was found guilty of killing three Israeli settlers in the illegal settlement of Halamish in the occupied West Bank and sentenced to four life terms. The attack was carried out during high tension between the Palestinians and Israel over Israeli measures at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Al-Abed was shot and moderately injured during the attack and subsequently detained.
Following the fatal stabbing, Israeli forces imposed a series of punitive measures on the al-Abed family and the residents of Kobar, temporarily sealing the village, detaining al-Abed’s parents and two brothers, raiding a local health clinic and demolishing the family home.
The al-Abed family home was also demolished on August 16.
