RAMALLAH, June 3, 2026 (WAFA) – The United Nations has called on Israeli to lift restrictions imposed on Palestinian refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, including policies that cause or prolong displacement, or impede access to basic services and livelihoods.
Speaking on behalf of the UN, spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric urged Israeli authorities to remove such measures that affected Palestinians in camps across the West bank.
On Sunday, Israeli authorities decided to extend a military order closing three refugee camps in the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates until the end of July.
According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), more than 33,000 Palestinians from these camps have been displaced and have not been allowed to return since the beginning of last year. The latest decision extends their displacement for an additional two months.
