Israeli forces detain 15 Palestinians in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, December 13, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained on Wednesday at least 15 Palestinians during raids in occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli police raided the neighborhood of al-Issawiya and detained 11 Palestinians after raiding their homes.

Police also detained two children from al-Tur neighborhood, in addition to two others from the town of Abu Dis, to the east of Jerusalem.

The detentions came following a nightlong of clashes across the city that saw dozens of Palestinians suffocate as a result of Israeli police’s use of teargas.

The protests, ongoing for six days, came as a result of US President Donald Trump’s decision last week in which he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’ capital.

Israeli police also reportedly used rubber-coated steel rounds to disperse the protesters, but there were no reports of casualties.
