NABLUS, August 2, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained at least 20 Palestinians, including a lawmaker, during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and security sources.
The PPS said Israeli forces raided Asira al-Shamaliya, northwest of Nablus, where they detained five Palestinians, including member of Palestinian Legislative Council Hosni Bourini and three former prisoners.
They also raided Talluza, northeast of Nablus, where they detained two Palestinians after ransacking their homes.
Another Palestinian was detained in Salfit district in the northern West Bank.
In the central West Bank, forces conducted a raid into the Ramallah city neighborhood of al-Masayef where they detained a Palestinian who comes from Beit Rima town, northwest of the city.
Three other Palestinians were detained during separate predawn raids into the Ramallah-district towns of Silwad and Bittin.
In the southern West Bank, PPS said Israeli forces detained a Palestinian after injuring him in al-Khader, south of Bethlehem.
Local anti-wall and settlement activist Ahmad Salah noted Diyaa Khader Salah, 24, was injured and subsequently detained after being hit by a tear gas canister fired by Israeli troops.
Salah was reportedly driving his motorcycle near al-Nashash checkpoint, located at the southern entrance of the town, where clashes were taking place between local youths and Israeli troops.
Three other Palestinians, including a 17-year-old minor, were detained during raids across Bethlehem district.
In Hebron district, troops detained at least one Palestinian after ransacking his family home.
In Jerusalem district, troops detained two Palestinians in overnight raids.
Meanwhile, two Palestinians were detained as they approached the border fence to the east of Rafah city in the southern besieged Gaza enclave.
