GROZNY July 20, 2017 (WAFA) - The Grand Mufti of the Republic of Chechnya, Sheikh Mohammad Salah Majidov, said Thursday that President Ramzan Kadyrov expressed strong opposition to the closing of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to Muslim worshippers and called on the Israeli government to immediately open it while warning against insulting Muslims.
“Given the restriction on freedom of entry to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque, we warn the Israeli authorities that we and all the Muslims in the world walking on the righteous path and are against any kind of extremism and terrorism will not allow you or anyone else to mess with the feelings of the believers or to insult and scorn them by using your provocative and diverse measures toward the holy places,” Majidov said in a press statement.
He continued: "We will not allow anyone to act toward Muslims as he wishes and it is our duty to defend our holy places, even with our lives and until the last breath. We will protect the nation of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and we are ready for that.”
