Netanyahu allows politicians’ provocative visits to Al-Aqsa after 18-month ban

TEL AVIV, July 2, 2017 (WAFA) – Reports said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has succumbed to pressure by the Israeli right wing and will allow Israeli politicians, ministers and Knesset members to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque after an 18-month ban.

Israeli sources said Netanyahu’s decision came following consultations between him and Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit.

The ban on visits by Israeli ministers and parliamentarians was first imposed by Netanyahu as tensions escalated in Al-Aqsa Mosque, where many Palestinians were arrested and killed.
