RAMALLAH, June 19, 2017 (WAFA) - PLO Executive Committee Member Hanan Ashrawi Monday met with Head of the Representative Office of the Netherlands Peter Mollema at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah.

Both parties discussed the latest global and regional developments and the alarming escalation of Israeli violations, including the expansion of the illegal settlement enterprise in and around Jerusalem, according to a statement by Ashrawi’s office.

Ashrawi stressed the importance of a vigorous European role and effective engagement to hold Israel accountable and to contribute effectively to a just peace.

The discussion also focused on Palestinian-Dutch relations, issues of mutual interest and continuing cooperation in various fields. In that context, Ashrawi urged the Netherlands to recognize Palestine in the immediate future.
