BETHLEHEM, June 19, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday detained at least 20 Palestinians, including a blind man, as they conducted multiple predawn raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society and security sources.
Israeli forces detained a Palestinian man and his two sons after ransacking his home in Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.
They also detained two Palestinians after storming their family home in Husan village, west of Bethlehem.
Elsewhere in Bethlehem district, forces raided Abu Freiha area, east of Beit Sahour, and detained two Palestinians.
Forces conducted multiple overnight raids across the northern West Bank district of Nablus, detaining six Palestinians, including a 24-year-old blind man.
In Qalqiliya, forces conducted a raid into Sanniriya town, south of Qalqiliya, where they beat and detained a Palestinian and wreaked havoc into many homes.
Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, a Palestinian from Jaba, south of Jenin, was detained at Huwwara checkpoint, south of Nablus.
Another Palestinian was detained after being stopped by Israeli troops who set up a flying checkpoint at the entrance of Zababdeh, southeast of Jenin.
In the meantime, troops detained two Palestinians during raids across Ramallah and al-Bireh district in the central West Bank.
In Jerusalem district, police detained a Palestinian after storming his family home in Shufat refugee camp.
They also detained another Palestinian at Bab al-Silsila (Gate of the Chain) leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
This came as Israeli authorities placed former Palestinian minister Wasfi Kabha under administrative detention for four months, days after he was detained from his home in Jenin.
Kabha was appointed as minister of prisoners’ affairs after Hamas won legislative elections back in March 2006.
