RAMALLAH, February 20, 2017 (WAFA) – A 58-year-old Palestinian worker died on Monday after being run over by an Israeli settler as he attempted to cross Road 443 to the West of Ramallah, according to local sources.
Husni Darraj, 58, from the town of Kharbatha al-Misbah to the west of Ramallah, was declared dead on the scene after being run over by an Israeli settler as he was crossing a settlers-only route 443 on his way to work in Israel.
According to B’Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, “Route 443 is not the only road that Palestinians are barred from using in the West Bank”.
According to B’Tselem’s last check in January 2017, “there are some 60 kilometers of roads in the West Bank that Israel dedicates exclusively for settlers and prohibits Palestinians from driving on”.
