LISBON, February 9, 2017 (WAFA) – Portugal said Thursday that it regrets Israel passing of a law that legalizes settlement outposts built on private Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank.
It said in a statement that Portugal “regrets” this decision and warned that “enforcing this law would lead to the establishment of new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories in a flagrant violation of international law.”
It called on Israel “to reconsider this decision, which leaves doubt regarding its commitment to the two-state solution and increases chances of renewed escalation of violence.”
