DUBLIN, May 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris stressed that reports of a planned extension of military operations by Israeli forces in Gaza are alarming.
In a statement issued on Monday in response to developments in Gaza, Harris stressed that such a move would result in further deaths, casualties and untold suffering for the Palestinian population who already face a dire humanitarian situation.
“I strongly urge the Israeli authorities to exercise restraint.”
He maintained that what is happening to the people of Gaza is despicable and unconscionable. ”This is a humanitarian catastrophe.”
He emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the large-scale resumption of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
