Construction Cost Index Up in March 2016, says Statistics Bureau

RAMALLAH, April 26, 2016 (WAFA) – The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 100.88 with an increase of 1.66% in the West Bank during March 2016 compared to the previous month, said a report issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Tuesday.

It said the CCI has increased due to an increase in the prices of labor wages rental and raw materials by 3.29% and by 1.09%, respectively. Meanwhile, rental of equipment decreased by 0.27% during the reporting period.

Meanwhile, CCI for non-residential buildings reached 101.05 with an increase of 1.55% in the West Bank during the same period.

It rose due to an increase in the prices of labor wages and raw materials by 3.29% and by 0.96%, respectively.  Meanwhile, rental of equipment decreased by 0.24%.

As for CCI for skeleton buildings, it reached 97.89 with an increase of 2.64% in the West Bank during March 2016 compared to the previous month. It rose due to an increase in prices of labor wages rental of equipment and raw materials by 3.86%, and by 2.44%, respectively. Prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.12% during the same period.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.24 with an increase of 0.41% in the West Bank during the same period.

It increased due to an increase in the prices of labor wages, raw materials, and operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 1.54%, 0.57%, and by 0.50%, respectively.

Meanwhile, rental of equipment decreased by 0.48% during the same period.

Meanwhile, the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 109.75 with an increase of 1.11% in the West Bank during the same period. Meanwhile, water reservoirs cost index reached 100.34 with an increase of 0.48% during the same period.

As for the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI), it reached 106.95 with a decrease of 0.36% in the West Bank during the same period.
