LONDON, July 25, 2025 (WAFA) - Ireland's prime minister, Micheál Martin, warmly welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement regarding France’s intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine, becoming the first country among the G7 nations to take such a step.
“I warmly welcome President Emmanuel Macron’s intervention as France is to become the first G7 nation to recognize the state of Palestine,” he said in a statement on X. “This is very significant.”
Ireland formally recognized the State of Palestine on May 28, 2024, together with Spain and Norway.
