Imports, Exports ‘Up’ in February, says Statistics Bureau

RAMALLAH, April 25, 2016 (WAFA) – Palestinian exports increased in February 2016 by 10.8% compared to January 2016, while imports increased during the same month by 1.6% compared to January 2016, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Palestinian exports increased in February 2016 by 10.8% compared to January 2016, and by 1.5% compared to February 2015 reaching $69.0 million.

Exports to Israel increased in February 2016 by 11.6% compared to January 2016, and represented 88.6% of total exports in February 2016.

At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 4.3% during the same period compared to January 2016.

Imports:

PCBS said imports increased in February 2016 by 1.6% compared to January 2016. It also increased by 9.1% compared to February 2015 and reached $377.3 million.

Imports from Israel increased by 5.1% in February 2016 compared to January 2016, and represented 57.2% of total imports in February 2016.

On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 2.8% compared to January 2016.
