Israel Detains Six Palestinians in West Bank, Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, April 24, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Sunday detained at least six Palestinian civilians, most of them during predawn and night raids across the West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS).

Army broke into the village of Beit Fajjar, to the south of Bethlehem, and detained Omar Thawabteh, a local Palestinian suffering hearing impairment.

Forces also broke into Qalqilia, in northwestern West Bank, and detained Mohammad Marwan Barghouthi, a local Palestinian.

Meanwhile in Jerusalem, Israeli police detained two Palestinian youths while they were present at al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the city. The two were not identified yet.

Also in Jerusalem, Israeli police detained two other Palestinians after raiding their homes. They were identified as Ahmad Kiswani and Ahmad Shawish.

Israeli police also stormed the house of Hussein el-Zir, a Palestinian elder, in the neighborhood of Silwan in Jerusalem, and notified him and his son, Khaled, to appear for interrogation.
