NABLUS, December 16, 2015
(WAFA) – A 19-year-old young Palestinian woman Wednesday succumbed to wounds
she sustained during an Israeli shooting at a major Nablus checkpoint in
November, said security sources.
On Wednesday
afternoon, Samah ‘Abdul-Mu’men from ‘Ammuriya village, south of Nablus,
succumbed to critical wounds she sustained after Israeli troops shot and
seriously injured her at Huwwara military checkpoint on November 23rd.
Abdul-Mu’men was shot as
soldiers targeted another Palestinian local identified as 16-year-old ‘Ala’
Khalil Hashash, from ‘Askar refugee camp, with fatal bullets after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at the
checkpoint.
Samah was reportedly
sitting in her car near the shooting incident when she received a bullet to her
head. No Israelis were reported injured during the alleged attack.
Following
her serious injuries, Samah was rushed into Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva,
in Israel, for treatment.
Samah’s
death brings up the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire since the
beginning of unrest that wracked the Palestinian Territory, Gaza, and Israel
since early October to 125. Over 13,000 Palestinians have reportedly been injured
during the same events.
Earlier
Wednesday, Two Palestinians were fatally shot and four others injured by
Israeli troops during a predawn military raid on Qalandia refugee camp, north
of Jerusalem.
