HEBRON, December 15, 2015 (WAFA) –
Israeli forces overnight and Tuesday afternoon detained 25 Palestinians,
including at least five former detainees, from West Bank, said Palestine
Prisoners’ Society and security sources.
Israeli forces detained nine Palestinians
from Hebron district, four others from Ramallah, three others from Tulkarem,
three others from Jerusalem, three others from Jenin, two others from Bethlehem
and another from Nablus.
Israeli forces raided the southern West
Bank city of Hebron, including the old city, where they proceeded to detain two
Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their houses.
The detainees were identified as Muhammad
Abu Shamsiya, 20, a former detainee, and Karam Shahin, 18.
Furthermore, forces detained another Palestinian
during a predawn raid into al-Samou‘ town, south of the city. The detainee was
identified as Muhammad al-Hawamda, 40.
Another Palestinian was detained during a
predawn raid into Beit Ummar town, north of the city.
WAFA reported local anti-wall and
settlement activist Muhammad ‘Awad as saying that Israeli forces raided the
town, where they proceeded to detain Muhammad ‘Awad, 21, a university student,
after breaking into and searching his family’s house.
Five other Palestinians were detained by
Israeli forces from Hebron district. According to the Palestine Prisoners’
Society (PPS), one detainee was identified as ‘Abdullah al-Rajabi, 28, while
the four others remained unidentified.
Meanwhile in the central West Bank
district of Ramallah, forces detained four Palestinians during a predawn raid
into Silwad town, east of the city.
Troops detained Bassam Hammad, 45, a
former detainee whose son, Anas, was shot dead by Israeli forces 11 days
ago.
Anas was killed by Israeli forces after
he allegedly rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers near the illegal
Israeli settlement of Ofra, north of Ramallah, allegedly hitting and injuring
two soldiers on Friday December 4.
Troops also detained Muhammad Muhammad,
47, a former detainee, ‘Othman and Muhammad al-Sarraj, 28, after breaking into
and tampering with the contents of their houses.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops detained three
Palestinians during a predawn raid into the northern West Bank city of
Tulkarem.
Troops detained Hamza Salama, 26, a
former detainee who was released February 2015, and Bahaa’ al-Jayusi, 19, after
storming and ransacking their families’ houses.
Another Palestinian was detained as
troops raided the Tulkarem neighborhood of Iktaba. He was identified as Zahi
‘Ofi, 29, a former detainee who spent seven years in Israeli prisons.
Meanwhile, Israeli police detained three
Palestinians from Jerusalem district. PPS reported that police detained Khalid
al-Basati, 17, and ‘Omar Abu Sarriya, 15.
Several hours later, another Palestinian
girl from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kufr ‘Aqab was detained purportedly for
possessing a screw driver.
In the meantime, Israeli troops detained
three Palestinians from the northern West Bank district of Jenin.
Troops stationed at Za‘tara military
checkpoint, south of Nablus, detained a Palestinian from Jenin. The detainee
was identified as Muhammad Abu Sakha, 20. Two more Palestinians were detained
as troops raided ‘Anza village, south of Jenin.
Troops physically assaulted and detained
Tareq ‘Atyani, 17, and his cousin, Sami, after breaking into their families’
houses
Furthermore, troops detained two
Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem. Troops detained
‘Ali ‘Allan, 30, as they raided the Beit Jala neighborhood of al-Jadawel.
They also detained Firas ‘Issa as they
raided al-Rashayda village.
In the meantime, a Palestinian identified
as Ihab Zeid was detained from the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
