RAMALLAH,
December 12, 2015 (WAFA) - The killing of three Palestinians by Israeli forces
in the West Bank and Gaza Strip hit the front page headlines in Palestinian
daily newspapers.
The
three dailies reported in their main front page news articles that three Palestinians
were shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank district of Hebron and the
Gaza Strip district of Deir al-Balah.
Highlighting
the Friday weekly protests across the West Bank and Gaza, the three dailies
reported that dozens of Palestinians were shot and injured as Israeli forces violently
suppressed the peaceful protests.
Al-Ayyam
added in this regard that a total of 121 Palestinians were shot dead and at least
13,000 others were injured by Israeli forces since the beginning of the
uprising in the first of October, 2015.
It
is worth noting in this regard that a Palestinian identified as Sami Madhi, 41,
was shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes near the Gaza Strip refugee camp
of al-Bureij. Another Palestinian identified as Omar al-Hroub, 55, was shot
dead by Israeli forces after he allegedly attempted to ram his car into
soldiers in the Hebron village of Halhoul.
The
third Palestinian, identified as Uday Irsheid, 24, succumbed to wounds he sustained
after getting shot in the chest and critically injured by Israeli forces during
clashes at the northern entrance of Hebron.
Furthermore,
al-Hayat al-Jadida reported that Israeli forces quelled Palestinians who
participated in a protest to commemorate the first anniversary for the killing of
Palestinian minister Ziad Abu 'Ein, 55.
Thousands
of Palestinians were reported in al-Ayyam as having performed Friday prayers in
Al-Aqsa Mosque compound despite severe Israeli restrictions.
Highlighting
Israel’s new settlement construction plans, al-Quds reported that Israel has
approved the construction of 82 new settler units in the Jerusalem refugee camp
of Shuʻfat.
Addressing
his Israeli counterpart Reuven Rivlin, US President Barack Obama was quoted in
al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida as stating that the ‘US may no longer be able to
stave off anti-Israel initiatives on world stages.’
Secretary-General
of PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat was reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida as
stating that if Israel continues to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian
state, ISIS would gain the support of the Arab World.
It
also reported that Israel has released an Israeli settler suspected of being
involved in the fatal arson attack on a Palestinian family in the Nablus
village of Duma in July, 2014.
Furthermore,
al-Ayyam reported that Israeli occupation authorities have brought cases
against 105 Palestinians over inciting violence via the Internet.
Member
of Fatah Central Committee Nabil Shaʻath was reported in al-Ayyam as stating:
'An international framework is required to solve the Question of
Palestine.'
He
was also quoted as adding: 'The US Administration draws a parallel between
the victim and the oppressor.'
Member
of PLO Executive Committee Hanan Ashrawi was reported in al-Ayyam as welcoming
the cancellation of US Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump’s visit
to Israel.
