RAMALLAH, December 8, 2015
(WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Tuesday issue on
Israeli troops’ shooting and killing of a Palestinian youth in Hebron on
Monday.
They said Israeli troops shot
and killed Ehab Meswadi, 21, after he allegedly stabbed and injured an Israeli
soldier.
Al-Quds said Israeli
authorities Monday handed notices of demolition for Palestinian-owned homes and
commercial stores in Jerusalem and Qalqilia.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam
said Israeli army notified owners of three homes in the West Bank of its intent
to demolish them.
The two dailies said Israeli
forces ordered the construction work on 18 residential structures in Qailqilia
district to stop.
Al-Quds said Israeli settlers
razed an agricultural land in the village of Bruqin near Salfit in the West
Bank.
It said an Israeli court
sentenced Khalida Jarrar, a member of the Palestinian parliament, to 15 months
in prison.
Al-Ayyam featured a report
which said that in many recent occasions, Israeli soldiers at checkpoints scattered
across the West Bank, placed knives “surreptitiously” into Palestinian vehicles
passing through checkpoints to justify use of live fire against them.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted
a report by Haaretz, an Israeli daily, which said that US-based business men
and NGOs have been subsidizing illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied
Palestinian territories with millions of dollars.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said
Israeli security sources expressed fear that an Islamic State-led attack on
Israel is just a “matter of time”.
