BETHLEHEM, December 8, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces shot dead a
Palestinian young man during a predawn detention raid into Duheisha Refugee Camp,
south of Bethlehem, said security sources and medical sources.
Israeli forces reportedly stormed the refugee camp, raided several
homes, and detained a number of locals, which provoked clashes with the camp’s
locals.
As Israeli troops stormed the camp, they fired tear gas canisters,
stun grenades and live rounds at locals. Malek Shahin, 20, was shot in the head
and transferred to hospital where he succumbed to his serious wound.
WAFA reported on Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Ambulance
and Emergency Department, Muhammad ‘Awad, as saying that Red Crescent paramedics
rushed the man into Hospital in Bethlehem, where he died shortly after.
During the predawn raid, forces detained a number of Palestinians and
summoned two others to appear before the Israeli intelligence for interrogation.
In the aftermath of Shahin’s killing, clashes erupted between
Israeli troops and Palestinians in ‘Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem.
Troops opened fire at Palestinian locals. However, no injuries were
reported.
Late Monday, Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian man near
al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the old city of Hebron. Israeli soldiers said the man,
who was identified as 21-year-old Ihab Fathi Miswadi, allegedly stabbed an
Israeli soldier, whose injuries were described as serious.
To be noted, The killing of Shahin
brings the total number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of
unrest in early October, 2015, to 117, including 25 minors, and five women, in
addition to at least 13,500 injuries.
