NABLUS, November 26, 2015
(WAFA) – The Israeli army Tursday confiscated eight buses which belong to the
Tamimi bus transport company, during a predawn offensive in Nablus city on
Thursday, according to local sources.
Samir Bishtawi, director
of the bus station in Nablus, said at about 2:00am, he received a phone call
from an Israeli army officer who ordered him to show up at the station, or
otherwise the army will ‘destroy’ the buses under a military order.
After he arrived, Israeli
soldiers switched the eight buses on and were seen driving them out of
the city at midnight.
The Israeli military
claimed the eight buses had partaken in transporting youth protesters to
Israeli checkpoints outside Nablus to participate in clashes with Israeli
troops.
Since early October, the
number of confrontations and protests between Palestinian youth and the Israeli
army has been on the rise. So far a total of 100 Palestinians, mostly teens,
have been killed by Israel’s use of excessive force.
On Wednesday alone, two
Palestinian youths were announced dead by the ministry of health, after
succumbing to critical wounds sustained during unarmed protests, during which
Israeli soldiers use live and rubber-coated steal rounds against the
youth.
