DOHA, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Qatar and the United Kingdom have jointly called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where Israel is committing acts of genocide, according to a joint statement released by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The statement followed the conclusion of the second Qatar-UK Strategic Dialogue 2025, held in the Qatari capital, Doha, and co-chaired by Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy.
Both ministers urged an immediate return to a ceasefire along with the establishment of a serious political horizon for the creation of a Palestinian state.
They also agreed that the upcoming high-level United Nations international conference, scheduled for June, will serve as a platform for achieving tangible outcomes toward a two-state solution.
The Qatari foreign minister strongly condemned Israel’s resumption of the war on Gaza and its completely unacceptable policies obstructing the delivery of vital humanitarian aid.
